“Harimau
Malaya”
"Harimau Malaya" is
known as Malayan Tiger. This "Harimau Malaya" is our national animal
of Malaysia.
In our Malaysia culture Malayan
Tiger is depicted as our coat of arms of Malaysia and does symbolized as our
Government.
"Tiger symbolized as
the bravery and strength to Malaysians"
This symbol appears in
various Malaysian institutions where it can be found at the Royal Malaysian
Police, Proton and Maybank, etc.
Rather than, that "Harimau Malaya" is the nickname of the
Malaysian National Football team of Malaysia. There is also the symbol for
their team :
The Football Association of Malaysia was the founded of the
"Harimau Malaya" in 1933.
It became the Malaysia National Football Team after the establishment of
the Malaysian Federation in 1963.
The Head coach is Datuk K. Rajagopal of the
Malaysian National Football Team
There are three Assistant coach who are Tan Cheng Hoe, Faozi Mukhlas, Martin Stano.
This the captain of the Malaysia National Football Team is Safiq Rahim.
The Top Scorer is Mokhtar Dahari of the "Harimau Malaya" team.
The football team had made it to the Olympic Games in the 1972. And in the AFC Asian Cup, Asian Games, and in the SEA Games also.
This is the first Malayan Football team members with the Prime Minister of Malaya in 1958.

I hope now you know why Malayan Tiger is our national animal in Malaysia because it does give us the courage of bravery and strength that always shows out the power of a tiger.
